Rabbi Mauricio Balter

A group of adult women from our congregation, who did not have the opportunity of celebrating their Bat Mitzvah at the appropriate time, have been meeting since last October.  The group comprises 15 women, aged 36-55, most of them are mothers. Amongst the group there are immigrants (old and new), Sabras, long-standing members of the congregation and those who have recently joined us.
The group meets once every two weeks, under the leadership of Rabbi Balter, who instructs them on the siddur, the structure of the prayers, Amidah, Masorti Judaism and the difference between us and other streams of Judaism, etc. Additionally, each one studied the  “Aliya LeTorah” which took plaece last May 2nd – Shabat Acharei Mot - Kedoshim.
